Employment Management

Employment management is a framework for employers and principals to ensure employment processes are followed in accordance with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2013.

Abandonment of employment Continued absence from work without approval of the employer may lead to the employee having 'abandoned' their employment
Breakages and loss Employees may or may not be liable for breakages or loss of property
Consultation and consultative committee (teachers) The Agreement contains detailed provisions regarding consultation with teachers and establishing a consultative committee
Dispute procedures The Agreement sets out procedures that apply in seeking to resolve a dispute
Educational initiatives Schools can introduce educational initiatives that can lead to improved teaching and learning outcomes
Introduction of change Employers who have made a definite decision to introduce major change to a school shall notify affected employees and the Union
Managing employment concerns An employer who has a concern(s) regarding an employee shall following the process under the Agreement
Model flexibility term Employers and employees covered by the Agreement may agree to enter into an Individual Flexibility Arrangement (IFA)
Termination of employment An employer or employee may terminate an employment contract under the provisions of the Agreement
Variation of hours Principals cannot make a change to a part-time employee's hours, days and/or times of attendance unless it can be demonstrated that the change is required
Work organisation An employer may direct an employee to undertake other duties
Workload and consultation (non-teachers) The Agreement lists out minimum requirements regarding non-teaching employee's workload
