Work Organisation

The VCEMEA contains provisions regarding the work and duties that can be allocated to employees.

Employer directions

An employee may be directed by an employer to carry out duties that are:

  • reasonably within the limits of the employee’s skill
  • consistent with classification structure of the Agreement

provided that such duties are not designed to promote de-skilling of the employee.

The employee may also be directed to carry out such duties and use such equipment as may be required, provided that the employee has been properly trained in the use of such equipment.

Any direction issued by the employer to an employee to undertake duties as outlined above must also be consistent with the employer’s responsibilities to provide a safe and healthy working environment.
